31 July, from the crew dude

Yo!!

Well, the day started off well enough weatherwise, but has since deteriorated.  The Cu's have over-developed, and right now (1300) the air has turned cooler.  Worse, there's a pile of gunk approaching from the west, and it'll go right over the top of us.  Apparently it's another cold front.

I hear tell, though, that the weather's better on the other side, but it has to go through first, and it's scheduled to arrive around the first-launch time (1400).  The wind has picked up too, and is around 20 kts on the deck.  I'm thinking that club class might get cancelled but we'll have to wait for that decision from the comp director.  The met forecast was for possible thunderstorms this arvo too.

Another waiting game!

BTW, typically in Australia results could reasonably be expected off soaringspot.com after about midnight.  The competitors have to get their logger files uploaded within 45 minutes of landing.

Stay tuned...

Back online.  Update 1530

Original launch time 1400.  Deferred to 1430 on the grid.  Then 1445.  Then, once the rain cleared away, 1500.  Then came cancellation of Standard class.  Towed the 28 back to the tie-down point.  Just after we did that, we noticed that Club must've been cancelled too, as they were all returning.  End of Day 4  So far, Standard have flown once, and Club not at all!

.Rumour going around is that we're going off bowling now.

  1. Jo champion crew dude!
Looks like they're extracting their pound of flesh for the privilege of being there. Rigging, derigging... Who said it would be so much fun? :)
