Hi all!
Not much today as it was officially an unofficial day, and I think only one or two gliders went up. Quite warm now, with good Cu's, but everyone's busy preparing for the opening ceremony which is in a couple of hours.
Only team captains and pilots will participate in the ceremony, so hopefully I can bag a good spot for photos nearby and get lots.
After that, Eric and I will be busy cleaning and re-taping the glider.
We've just come back from driving around nearby looking at outlandable paddocks which might be useful if the pilot has overcooked the final glide a bit. There are quite a few around, and one just about big enough to land a jumbo in. A few others are still in crop, with either wheat (or barley?) or corn, neither of which you really want to land in. There are also some big ditches near the edge of paddocks, not advisable to drop into those either!
More to come, after the ceremony is done.
Cheers
