Hi all!
Well, Eric dropped again, this time a bit closer to the airfield. Apparently he found a huge lot of totally dead air and had no option. Landed in a big paddock whic had a few ruts in it, and as it turned out a lot of biting insects similar to march flies.
The landing field was easier to get to as it was right on a main road, and the coordinates I managed to transfer to Google Maps and then let the phone do the rest of the work. (Yep, phone calls seem to be just a sideline for phones these days.)
Went past him initially, and then had to do at least a 7-point turn in a tight parking area with the trailer to turn around, but managed it then got to the paddock and de-rigged.
Rest of the journey was a non-event, and now we're back here, in quite hot stifling conditions wondering what's it's going to be like in bed tonight in a tent without any form of air-conditioning!
Oh, forgot to get any pictures of the outlanded glider, I was concentrating mainly on not stuffing up retrieving him (you know, foreign country and all that, but I'm kinda getting good at that right now :-) )
Cheers!
You seem to be enjoying yourself too much exploring the polish countryside with that VW and Cobra. Tell your pilot to be less considerate and finish the tasks instead of giving you all these opportunities so you can suffer the heat at the airfield as any decent champion crew dude should!
