Hi all!
Why would anyone want to write about the night? Well, I guess it kinda depends on what happened then.
The met guys were right about thunderstorms. The rain started around 2230 and kept on for any amount of time (I fell alseep before it finished). Not only did we have rain, but lightning, thunder and wind as well, and all of them continuous. No idea how many storm cells went through, but there was lightning in every direction, and it was eventually pretty well impossible to differentiate between the sounds of thunder, wind and rain.
Our tent has stood up to it remarkably well. First glance shows that everyone else's seem to be OK too. One unoccupied team operations pergola has been blown right over, not sure how badly damaged.
All gliders had been boxed and all trailers tied down - and they went nowhere.
Not sure how much rain we had, but the forecast was for around 20 mm or so. The grass'll like it - it was starting to look stressed.
As to what will happen today - well, we'll have to leave that to briefing time.
Cheers!
