Germany!

I flew into Frankfurt International yesterday morning at around 6.15. I couldn't sleep on the plane as much as I would have liked but I think I've just about caught it up; maybe tomorrow morning I will be able to say that I actually have.

My Cousin Marcel came to pick me up and out of the airport we drove, turned left, left again and on the autobahn we were. 120.. 140.. 160..180...190...200......210.....215.......220...... Which cut our 3 hour drive into a 2 hour drive. But I won't mention how much fuel he went through..

I had about 5 cups of coffee with brunch to load up for the day and make it till sunset; which is at 2125 here..!! (I did make it, only just, then I was out cold)

It looked like a pretty good soaring day so my Grandma, Marcel and I drove out to the local gliding field. When I say local I mean "L O C A L." And there's another field within the same 10-15 minute radius!!! We went to Degerfeld -which is where my Dad learned to fly- and I had a little flight with one of the few guys who still remember him. I did think that that was pretty cool for my first glider flight in Europe, even though it was just a bobsled ride off the winch.
On Wednesday day I might go out again and then it's off to Poland on Thursday!!!

Oh! And I can't forget the beers I had last night. It was real German, not like export beer, Fosters (yuck) from Aus, Becks from here (they don't even know how to make bad export beer). It was good to finally get some culture into me. (Not the yoghurt sort)
