25 July, from the crew dude

After the shenanigans of the previous day, almost anything would be an anti-climax.

Which was almost the case.  The day started out with total overcast, thick cirrus preventing the tent from warming up unbearably, with the result that i managed to get a bit of extra sleep  :-)

Usual routine, ballast up the glider then tie it back down, for an instant start should Eric deem it desirable.  Meantime, some shopping was called for, so that occupied most of the rest of the morning.

More and more tents have appeared in the campground, which is now quite crowded.  Almost impossible to get a car in or out of the place now, and we're going to have to be careful not to get it hemmed in permanently.  I hear tell that before much longer all cars will be required to be parked outside the tent area.  Security has also appeared here, and we need to wear passes now.

We got the glider to the grid later in the day; hardly anyone was flying probably due to the cloud which actually cleared away later on, leaving good Cu's.  Eric launched, and I tracked him on SPOT, and noticed that he returned around 40 minutes later!  The last SPOT spot showed him just short of the airfield, and a few seconds later he returned over the fence.

A minor technical problem had forced him to abandon the flight, and we'll need part of tomorrow to fix it.  Hopefully this can be done and he'll be back in the air!  Luckily it's still only practice time.

Cheers
